Welcome to the on-line catalogue of Abussabah Library, Farook College. The College offers one of the best libraries in the state of Kerala. It has a valuable collection books, periodicals, CD/DVDs and other audio visual materials. A separate section for blind students with Braille literature and Digital Talking Book Library has been set up. Mappila Studies and Research Collection (MSRC) is one of the centres of attraction inside the Library. It contains Valuable collection of documents s useful for researchers in the field of Mappila History. Manuscript collection inside the Library contains 18 valuable manuscripts and most of them are 300 to 500 years old. Most of the Manuscripts are written in Arabi-Malayalam language. Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) is used for the classification of the documents and Anglo American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2) is used for cataloguing purposes. Subject headings are selected from Library of Congress (LC) List of Subject headings. A well organized Digital Library under MPLAD work of Sri P.V. Abdul Wahab M.P. has been set up. Access to e-resources has been provided by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre of UGC, Ahmedabad. A state of the art, fully air conditioned Audio-Visual Theater is attached to the Library. The Library structure, named after Moulavi Abussabah Ahmed Ali, the founder of the Campus was commissioned by His Excellency the then President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abul Kalam, on 17th November 2002.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The digital revolution has changed the way of the library is used. Our digital library is supplementing large stock of books and periodicals. Access to National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (NLIST) resources are available using the user name and password allotted from the library. NLIST Programme is subsumed under UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium as college Component. The project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre. E-Journals of the internationally reputed publishers like American Institute of Physics, Oxford University Press, Royal Society of Chemistry, H. W. Wilson, Cambridge University Press and Journals under JSTOR (2500+ titles) are available through the subscription. In addition e-books of world famous publishers like Springer, Taylor & Francis, McGraw Hill, Oxford, EBSCo and Cambridge Books Online are available through the NLIST. World e-books Library (30,00,000 titles)and E-brary (125000+ titles) makes the collection of Digital library above Thirty lakh e-resources.

Library is a member of the DELNET Digital library consortium. Trough this resources from more than 7000 libraries across the country can be accessed. More than 2 Lakh electronic information reaources can be accessed through this program. Access to Developing Library Network (DELNET) resources are available using the user name and password allotted from the library.

In addition an institutional reppository has been setup using the digital library software "DSpace". Articles published by Faculty of the institution, College magazines from 1948 onwards, digitized rare books, Database of previous years' Question Papers, Photographs of important events related with the institution and many other e-books and articles are accessible from this repository.

National Programme for Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) Local chapter is functioning inside the campus. NPTEL videos relating to science subjects are made available inside the digital library. More than 10000 video lectures are available inside the Library. Academic community inside the campus can register and enroll for various NPTEL online courses through the local chapter.
